The editorial was conceived as a comic-inspired fashion story referencing the cult Czech film “Who Wants to Kill Jessie?” (1966). In the series, Pamela appears as a playful modern super-heroine, stepping into a visual world influenced by the film’s graphic style and the iconic illustrations of Kája Saudek.
Pamela was approached to embody a larger-than-life character of the story. For the magazine, Anderson represents something more than a 1990s pop-culture icon: she is someone who has continually reinvented herself, moving from the image of a global sex symbol to that of an outspoken activist and advocate for animal rights.
The shoot took the crew to southern France, where the story unfolded across sunlit villas and dramatic coastal landscapes. Between cinematic staging and comic-book references, the images play with the tension between fantasy and reality.
The project also marked a special moment for the magazine - Pamela Anderson’s first ever Vogue cover, captured in a series that celebrates freedom, individuality, and the idea that identities can constantly evolve.
